It’s my birthday – and GUESS WHAT!
Last evening Tracy Rae, one of my best friends, honored me with a small dinner party – and I was FEARLESS!!
Oh, not about my age or about getting one of those “over the hill” cards or any of the other birthday jitters we hear about.
I had asked for a Talent Show after dinner since several of my good friends are accomplished performers and halfway through, I got up and SANG! But here’s the thing: I have a terrible singing voice. Yes! I LOVE to sing! And I did; I sang “My Funny Valentine.” And everyone applauded me – for my bravery, I think – but it was sincere, loving applause.
Even though I knew I wasn’t good enough, I decided I love to sing and who could refuse me on my birthday?
No, it wasn’t on my bucket list – I’m still too young to have a bucket list – but it was something I’ve always wanted to do (I even had a mic and everything last night even though there were only seven of us.)
I wish you could have been there – the outpouring of love was palpable. And I just basked in it.
Is there something you’ve always longed to do but haven’t? Is fear of not being good enough keeping you from having that experience? I overcame it and so can you. I’m here to support you in fulfilling your dream so lean on me.
I’d love if you’d share with us what your secret longing is. Just Click to Comment.
Joy and Blessings,
Ellen
Ellen, you rocked it! You’re such an inspiration and after hearing you say you have a bad voice for so many years, I was overjoyed to hear your authentic and beautiful rendition of ‘My Funny Valentine’. Thanks for showing up in life and encouraging us all (because it does take courage) to do the same. I love you! Happy Birthday!!!
Hi, Ellen…
Happy, Happy Birthday! And, I wish you many, many more!
You are my inspiration.
I have a house full of art that I have created. Art is my passion and my joy. My “not so secret” wish is to open a gallery. Unless I win the lottery, having that wish come true seems unlikely. But…I have always been a dreamer, and I dream BIG!
Hey….As part of the “Creatives Rising” with See/Me, an image of one of my creations was projected on to a Skyscraper in NYC on October 5th, along with artists from all over the world.
I was honored to be a part of it. I never dreamed that a photograph of something I made on the floor of my garage would someday be seen high in the air in New York! (smile) Another of my works will be shown in Miami next month. So….I’m going to keep dreaming!
Again…I wish you a belated happy birthday. Sounds like you had a wonderful one. You are amazing, Ellen!
Love…Rita
Wow! Wow! Wow! Rita. How fabulous – your creation rising – in NYC!!! I send you enormous good energy for your dream to come true and if you have a link for all of us to see your See/Me image (or another one), please Click to Comment and share it with us. We’re all proud of you. Love, Ellen
Thank you, Ellen!!! I meant to show the link in my last post in case you were interested in looking, but forgot! It’s https://ritasart.see.me
If you click on “Work” below, and then click on the first picture…it will give you the Title and description of each one. The ones pictured here are only a very few of the many that I’ve made. (Didn’t I tell you I have a house full?)And, I have a large house! (laughing) Click on “My Story” and you will see my “pitiful” resume! Then…if you go to “Community” you will see some of the very nice comments I’ve received. At last count, I have 628 “supporters.”
Thanks for your interest!
Please, dearest Rita. You’re going places now – time to stop putting yourself down. No more “pitiful” and “having that wish come true seems unlikely.” I hope you don’t mind this comment – just accept and love your God-given talent and know that you are worthy of it.
Happy Birthday, Ellen! You are an inspiration to all you have met and all you will meet on your special journey, designed by you and for you! I am so grateful that I found your website. Yes, we all have true passions that keep calling and prompting us to participate in the life school. I, too, love music. It has been called the voice of angels! I also enjoy singing (mainly for me). I just might step out of my self-imposed box and give it a try!
Happy Birthday!!!
Yay, Bonny! Do it. The Universe will support you and so will we. Big hugs, Ellen
Thank you for your kind words, Ellen.
Have a happy day….and KEEP SINGING!
I am wishing you a belated birthday. It sounds as though it was a real celebration!

Thank you, dear Cynthia. I appreciate your birthday wishes and comments.
Happy belated birthday Ellen. What an honour to know you ! Let’s hope I’ll meet you soon.
All my love from sunny and cold Paris.

I love this idea. I have been using my crafts to keep from finishing my book. Well, time to quit making excuses. I love the idea of just going for it! Congrats on doing something even if you are not perfect. Thanks again for the inspiration !
Time to finish your book, dearest Ellen Roddy. Just go for it. With your strong intent today, it will happen!! Enormous blessings – let us all know when it’s finished. Love, Ellen
